SWIFT Orientation - October 12, 2009

Provident's SWIFT program offers job training and job placement services to individuals who have lost their TANF benefits.  On October 12 at Provident's main office, a new group of energetic, program participants completed a SWIFT Orientation...the first step to a new job and an independent life!

International Dinner - August 15, 2009

The youth in Provident's FLITE program hosted an International Dinner on August 15, 2009 to raise awareness about global water issues and raise funds to build a well in a third world country. It was inspiring to see disadvantaged youth in our community working to help others around the world!

FLITE - 3 on 3 Basketball Tournment

Provident's FLITE students participated in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and health fair on July 25, 2009. It was a gorgeous day of sport, fellowship and fun. Both FLITE teams played well and enjoyed the support from fellow FLITE participants and staff!

Kathleen's Retirement Celebration

 

On Thursday, June 26, 2009 at Norwood Country Club, colleagues, friends and family celebrated Kathleen E. Buescher's retirement as President and CEO of Provident. Attendees reminisced over a 20 year tenure characterized by leadership, innovation and service.

Kathleen expressed her passion for Provident and service to the St. Louis community. Kathleen guaranteed (well almost guaranteed) that she would remain in St. Louis as she pursues her "encore career" in Library Sciences.

Provident's First Annual Family BBQ

June 11, 2009, Provident hosted its first annual "friend-raising" family BBQ at Tilles Park.  The weather was beautiful (luckily we escaped the rain!), the BBQ was fantastic (grilling expertise provided by Fatty's BBQ) and all enjoyed a wonderful evening of fun and laughter.

Vision of Hope 2009

Provident's Vision of Hope Benefit Luncheon on April 21 was a great success!  Thank you to the more than 350 people who joined us to show their support for Provident and their belief in the St. Louis community.

Transitions to Work Graduation

Provident's Transitions to Work for Youth program held a graduation ceremony on August 28 recognizing 64 participants who successfully completed the program. Transitions helps youth age 16-21 find employment, finish school, and stay off of drugs. Congratulations to all the graduates!
