Provident Helps A.S.A.P Launch 27 New and Expanded After School Programs

The After School For All Partnership (ASAP) is a community-wide public and private based effort to increase the supply and quality of after school programs for the City of St. Louis through a coordinated system.  In 2006, only 9% of the children in the City of St. Louis had access to an everyday, quality after school program, compared to the national average of 22%.  ASAP is working to insure that 5,600 more elementary school children will have access to a high quality after school program.

A.S.A.P. enhances teacher and school-based curricula; supports student classroom learning; provides safe and nurturing environments for students; fosters stronger sense of community and neighborhoods; allows parents to manage work and continuing education; and prepares students for lifelong learning and productive adulthoods.

Provident, along with several other organizations, has agreed to help manage 27 of the new and expanded after school locations.  To learn more about ASAP, please go to their website at stlasap.org.
