Thomas B. Mulhearn has assumed the position of President and CEO of Provident! He succeeds Kathleen E. Buescher, who retired after serving in the position for 20 years.
Tom brings a wealth of experience in organizational and program management from his many years with Catholic Relief Services, World Vision International and, most recently, his leadership of Catholic Charities here in St. Louis. His work in some of the world’s most impoverished areas from the Sudan to Kenya to East African and Indian Ocean countries, gives him a unique perspective on many of the needs that agencies such as Provident are faced with on a daily basis.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Provident, an agency which has been bringing hope, help and a brighter future to thousands in the community for almost 150 years. I am honored and privileged to lead this effort to help those most in need meet and overcome life’s biggest challenges,” Mulhearn said.
